Lotus has bloomed. Now I can figure out what this variety is. I recieved it when I was working in the water garden, but we were unsure . Without seeing the color of the flower its anyones guess.So I will soon be posting the answer to the mystery.

The passion flower Im trying to grow as a “green wall” isnt cooperating with me.  I dont know if it is the weather, the cold and the rain or the soil(it being to hard , as my carrots might tell you)but they are not doing that well.  Lets hope for some clear hot days to get them running along.

July 12-I am struggling with the weeds in my garden.  They keep coming up.  I have applies many layers of mulch and they continue to come.  Also I dont have enogh ground covers to help keep them in check.  So I plan to work on these areas.  More ground covers and a bit more time weeding.

Its a bit early, or late depending on your perspective, but Im thinking about fall and winter in my garden.

Im starting to think about how my garden will look during these times.  Im also debating changing the color of my fence to blend in or match seasons.  It would also be nice to see how it effects the color of the plants in my garden.

These barrels are doing a fair job of providing just enough protection from the sun to plant more shade loving plants.

June 7.

One challenge Im having with this plot  is drainage.  I tilled it twice with the tractor and have added compost and  a leaf mulch with the hope of lighting up the soil.  But when it rains I am having flood problems.  I might, or should have added some gravel to help with drainage.

 

Things are all coming together. The weather has been unseasonable cold and rainy so its been a bit stop an go in way of progress.
